"We have had contact with many different venture capital companies in the past year. Of course we have sought capital, but it has been just as important to find competence," says Absolicons' Managing Director, Joakim Byström, who, with a little hindsight, thinks that it was wise to wait for the "right" investor.
"We had to play it cool. The company has received a lot of attention, prizes and acclaim – but, of course, we can't live on prize money forever," he stated.
Absolicons' first product, the Solar Concentrator, has received a lot of attention. Solar8 concentrates and converts energy from sunlight and generates both electricity and heat. With the risk capital Absolicon will make a concentrated effort in Spain, which is the most important market right now.
