Prizes and Acclaim

The product has received many awards, in October 2006 Absolicon was awarded €13 000 by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf at a ceremony in Stockholm.

Absolicon is considered one of Sweden’s hottest new technology companies in the current listing by leading business magazines.

The company has received much acclaim:

Finalist in Miljöinnovationstävlingen/“The Swedish National Cleantech Innovations Competition” 2005
Even before the product was finished, the concept was nominated as one of 20 promising environmental inventions in Sweden.

Sustainable Stockholm Award
In October 2006 Absolicon received 125.000 SEK from the King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf, at a ceremony in Stockholm. The King was very interested in the product. This was the third time that Joakim Byström received a prize from the King for his work with the environment and development.

Regional Innovation Competitions
In 2007, we won both first prize (50.000 SEK) in the regional innovation competition, Jagharenide/“I-have-an-idea,” and a trip to China to gather new ideas. Solar8 also received second prize in the regional quarter final of Skapa/“Create.”

VentureCup North
In the Summer of 2007 Absolicon's business plan won the second prize of 100.000 SEK in the regional business plan competition, “Venture Cup,” and was nominated as one of the best 10 business plans in Sweden in competition with over 1000 Swedish companies.

WWF Carl Mannerfeldt Prize
In September 2007, Absolicon's' Managing Director, Joakim Byström, received the most prestigious Swedish environmental prize for his work in combining entrepreneurship with environmental work from WWF and Svenskt Näringsliv/"Confederation of Swedish Enterprise" – The Carl Mannerfeldt Prize of 200.000 SEK.

VinnNU/“WinNow”
The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, VINNOVA, nominated Absolicon in November 2007 to one of the ten best technical companies in Sweden and awarded the company 300.000 SEK.

Globe Award 2008
Arontis is one of the companies nominated for the Globe Award which is awarded to companies that work with Corporate Social Responsibility, which is an acknowledgement of Absolicon's commitment to the Solar Energy Technician Program and the company's work to influence public opinion about solar energy.
